Policy · Version 2026-08-14

No Harmful Music Policy

Silkcrayon exists to help artists make powerful work without using the studio to promote real-world harm.

What we do not facilitate

Silkcrayon will not knowingly facilitate material that glorifies real-world violence, makes targeted threats, promotes hate or dehumanisation, depicts or promotes sexual exploitation, or targets people with harassment.

Creative context

Music can discuss difficult experiences, fictional situations, conflict and social realities. Context matters. The distinction is whether the work is exploring or describing difficult subject matter versus using Silkcrayon to celebrate, encourage or target people with real-world harm.

Our right to stop a session

If material breaches this policy, the engineer or Silkcrayon may decline the material or end the session. Serious or repeated breaches may result in future bookings being refused.

Questions before booking

If you are unsure whether a project falls within the policy, contact info@silkcrayon.com before the session.
